Where Personal Meets Global
Where Personal Meets Global
A Deeper Look at Our Westfield Victorian Design
Global design began appearing in the early 1900s as world travelers began decorating their homes with mementos from their adventures. The concept is that designers bring a region or culture to life through textiles, artwork, and details in a more eclectic fashion. Global styling must be executed very intentionally to be done right.
As we are always up for a diverse design challenge, we were thrilled when our clients wanted to bring a global style into their Westfield Victorian home. This 150-year-old house was extremely traditional and elegant. Maintaining the best qualities of this house was essential to the success of this project.
As we learned more about our client’s family and background, we established the type of decorative accents we were going to weave into the design of this classic-style home. His family is from Rajasthan in northern India, known for their beautiful textiles, extravagant architecture, and bold colors.

While we highlighted the Indian-style accents of this home in our deeper look, there are so many more personal things we were able to leverage in this beautiful home. We incorporated his love of American history and her family’s Civil War roots through curated artwork and books. Furniture selections were made intentionally with their lifestyle in mind.
